Since graduating from the British School of Osteopathy, London, in 1985, I have worked in the healthcare profession as an osteopath and, since 2000, as an acupuncturist. Every time I walk into my treatment room, I still feel the sense of privilege, excitement, and honour that I experienced treating my first patient as a new grad, knowing that I have complete autonomy over what I can do to help someone overcome pain, restore function, and return to doing what they love.
